Dedalus in Motion

Harry Brown, like The Road and Blindness before it, is a well-shot film that would likely be a great book.  Its underbelly, however, is a bit too grotesque for most viewers to sit through.  I walked away rubbing my eyes with dread and horrified by all that the human race is capable of.  Living in my safe and protected little world where the elderly are the least likely victims of thugs, I couldn’t help but wonder if this is sensationalized violence or if there are really places this bad in the world.  I pray there is not, but fear the film depicts a reality for some poor bloke in the world.

Three cheers to Daniel Barber for his stylized direction, and to Martin Ruhe for his breathtaking use of light, color and the camera!
