Dedalus in Motion
Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest, most evident ones. With Hollywood’s current obsession with comic book films and bromances, it makes perfect sense that some clever writer would come along and smash the two up into one clever film. Director/co-writer Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman did just that.
The beauty of this story is its reality. Just what you’d expect to happen when a teenager gets it in his head to become a superhero is exactly what does happen. This story pulls no punches and delivers no kung-fu fighting (at least not where you’ll expect it, at any rate). The real breath of fresh air is relative newcomer Chloe Moretz, who pulls off bad-ass Hit Girl and innocent Mindy Macready with appealing finesse. Nicholas Cage also turns in an interesting portrayal of Big Daddy.
Great, uber-violent fun that spares no one, Kick-Ass is a delight.

Kick-Ass: Lives up to its name
