Dedalus in Motion
For anyone who’s never read Fast Food Nation or any of Michael Pollan’s novels, this film is a must. It ultimately combines those books into a two-hour summary about the industry that drives modern “food stuff.” That is, things that resemble food, but are, in fact, products of an assembly line that have come so far from what is natural that to call them by the same name our great grandparents called their “food” is an injustice to the word.
One couldn’t call Food Inc “entertaining,” despite its strong direction and significant budget (for a documentary, at any rate), but it most definitely is relevant every minute, isn’t too slanted, and has volumes to teach those who haven’t explored this topic at length. Don’t miss it. The issues presented here affect everyone, every day.
