I had hoped that this new collaboration between the producers and director of V For Vendetta would live up to its predecessor.  It does not (how could it?  V For Vendetta is arguably the best comic book adaptation ever put to film).  Ninja Assassin is more a film in the style of Japanese action (made popular in the United States by Tarantino’s Kill Bill series).

This is uber-violent action with blood and guts galore.  It’s amazing what films can get away with these days with an R-rating...  Don’t expect great writing or great acting, but for those of us raised in the time when ninjas were all the rage, it’s satisfying kick-ass action good for a laugh.
