Perhaps I’m not remembering the book right, but I don’t recall any action-packed chase scenes, or Honey, I Shrunk Ebeneezer antics where a dwarfed Ebeneezer is chased by rats and men with fire pokers.  This is Hollywood in its most desperate and transparent act of gross capitalism, clenching at an old franchised story to make yet another buck without coming up with anything new.

One things for sure, though.  3-D snow on a big screen is almost as cool as real snow...  And computer-generated animators are finally starting to get the hang of skin-tones; the characters’ skin was pretty incredible-looking.
